#tbt - End of Summer Trip to Looe

I found this post lurking in my drafts and I can't figure out why I never posted it!! Anywho, I think this is a year and a bit old (monkey with hands up emoji face ... Pretty embarrassing).

Just thought it was a nice lil' post to publish whilst I work on new content!

I have a few photos just lurking around on my camera, which I took with the intention to create blog posts... Did that happen? Nooooope
However, it did strike me that if this ever happened again - where I leave pictures unattended to then find them again sometime in the future, due to A Levels (damnnnn you!) - I can make posts up to then schedule them for a #tbt on this blog! (And that's 'throwback Thursday' for those of you who aren't down with the lingo - don't worry I'm not too good with it either, what does 'smh' even stand for!?)
Anywho, this is my first installment - it won't be a weekly thing, it's only if I do happen to come across any photos that I intended to post on here. SO, without further ado, let's get on with it shall we?

I thought it would be nice to kick-start the #tbt series with an end of summer trip to Looe (as the title states). Looe is a wonderful place, located in Cornwall, and it never fails to sweep me off my feet with a flood of nostalgia. I used to go there pretty much every single weekend as a kid, purchasing endless amounts of ice-cream, fish & chips (minus the fish) and bundles and bundles and bundles of nick-nacks - basically a load of crap that I'd never see again once I got home, but isn't that always what happened when you were a child?
Looe itself is a beautiful little seaside town, where you can watch fisherman get attacked by seagulls as they make their way back to the port to bring their fresh catches to shore. There is also many quaint little shops, where I once brought my nick-nacks (don't worry the tradition still continues as I have an 8 year old sister, who is just like I was), but there are also lovely vintage shops and unique clothing stores as well.
But that isn't all folks! If you go during the summer, there is plenty of eye-candy around - trust me, and if you happen to visit one of the many sweet shops at this time, there is quite a cute looking guy who works in one... Shhh, I didn't say anything hehe!

Just in case you're wondering why I'm taking pictures of two random people, these two are in fact my mum (on the left, of course) and my little sister, Mia!

Bit of an impromptu OOTD with my toes poking out of my sandal - laaaavly! Unfortunately, none of these items are available in the shops any more, but here's a run-down of what I'm wearing anyways:

I couldn't end a proper Cornish blog post without a picture of a seagull could I!? Feels weird saying this since we are now well into winter, but I hope you all had a wonderful summer, and of course a lovely Christmas and I wish you all have had a nice and cheery start to the New Year!

Christmas Update

I can't quite believe Christmas has already been and gone, it goes by so fast! I can't get my head around the fact that in a few days time we'll be in 2015, and eighteen days after I'll finally be 18!? It just seems insane! I hope you all had a magical Christmas, surrounded by your friends and family, and if you have a different religion or just don't celebrate Christmas, I still hope you had a wonderful day!

I have been so spoilt this Christmas, but there is just one present in particular I wanted to share with you guys. This year I am so overjoyed to tell you that I got a new camera! It is the Nikon Coolpix L830 in red, and it has a really cool tilt screen feature! Here is a ridiculously horrible picture of me just after I opened it thank god it's blurry.

I can't tell you how excited I am to use it! Hopefully it'll take much better photos than the one I normally use (which is the one that is being used to take that picture). Don't get me wrong, my little Samsung digital camera has done me proud, and it has taken some surprisingly beautiful pictures, but it hasn't always been the most reliable for quality. 

I know that my new camera isn't exactly a DSLR, but it is a bridge. Hopefully someday in the future I'll be able to afford a swanky DSLR, but for now I'm extremely grateful for this new camera, and I think it's enough for me!

Priceless, Lovely Day

Yesterday, I had a wonderful catch-up with one of my oldies (meaning my oldest best friend/sista from anotha mista). After having spent quite a lot of money in the past for catch-ups with other friends, I hadn't a penny left to do anything fancy with my long-time bestie, Florence. I felt awful, however we still managed to have a lovely afternoon out in our hometown.

Generally, our town is very boring, and it still is. But with the right company, and finding a pretty spot to sit and chat, staying in our town didn't seem that bad at all!

Living by a river can give you some pretty splendid views - and no, it doesn't produce the beautiful, post-card pictures that the lakes and rivers will give you in Alberta, Canada, but it still isn't a bad place to find a bench to sit and chat!

I thought this last picture of Flo looking somewhat deep in thought (or moody & bored - I'm kidding, we were having a good ol' gossip and chat, like the lil' old ladies we are) seemed quite fitting for what I'm about to say/type. Yesterdays gander around our town made me realise that you really don't need to spend any amount of money to have a lovely day. Just stepping out and exploring what your town has to offer, and to simply have a catch-up with a friend can be just as wonderful as galavanting out of town and spending tonnes on food.

If you're worried about money and being able to have a nice time with your friends, perhaps suggest a chilled day in a park or sea-front or something. You really don't have to spend a penny to ensure you have a great day!

Sorry guys, today was a bit of a different and slightly cheesy post. I promise to up my game soon, it's just very difficult at the moment as I am trying to finish off stuff for going back to Sixth Form. However, I do have a couple of future blog posts in mind, so keep an eye out (think skin-care and a potential haul/lookbook). Anywho, despite the different post, I hope this can motivate any of you to potentially make the most of your hometown and save some money!

New Hair!?

After 2 years, I finally made the huge decision to chop off around 3-4 inches of my hair. Hearing the scissors cutting off the large chunks of hair made my skin crawl and I began to question myself - what the hell am I doing!? My rapunzel-like hair was gone in seconds. However, once my hairdresser got to styling and shaping my hair, I was relieved that I finally took the plunge.

It feels and looks so much healthier, and it's so good to have a change. I got her to shape my hair at the front and give me a little bit of a fringe, so that if I ever decide to wear my hair up, I can let bits of my hair fall in front of my face in a natural, care-free way.

You'd think that having my hair cut and styled differently would be a big enough of a change, but no. I went even more crazy... Some may say that I was in a bit of a 'yolo' (cringe) mood.

I purchased a Bleach London DIY Highlighting kit from Boots earlier on this week, which you might have seen from my 'Late August Haul' post. So, after having my hair-cut I thought, why the hell not just go for it! I roped my dad into dyeing my hair for me, as I really do not trust myself and he did an alright job. I mean, the roots are a bit funky at the moment, but thankfully I bought two kits, so I think I'll sort that out sometime soon. Despite that one problem though, I am now very, very blonde! It is a bit strange and hard to get used to at the minute, but I'm sure once it fades a tad (which I'm sorta hoping it does) I will love it.

For now though, this is my new hair. (I know it isn't perfect, and also, I am the least photogenic person I know, so please excuse the face! I just wanted you guys to see my new look!):

Late August Haul

I went on a bit of a spending spree and picked up quite a few bits and bobs, I mean what kinda girl doesn't like to shop every now and then? Here's what I got:

Bleach London Beach Lights - £7 (Boots)

Although I am naturally blonde, my hair is getting darker by the minute and I hate it! I have been eyeing up Bleach London products for a while and the whole brand looks so cool - you can temporarily dye your hair at home in the coolest shades (think bubblegum pink, minty blue and even purple). However, I'm not going to be that adventurous just yet, but I'm totally tempted to try them out soon. For now though, I'll give the home highlights a try and will keep you guys updated!

Bombay Bicycle Club // So Long, See You Tomorrow CD - £6.99 (HMV)

I have been a fan of Bombay Bicycle Club for a while now. Their music is very chilled, edgy and cool, and I guess many consider it 'indie'. I have ordered tickets to see them live in December, so thought it apt to purchase their CD asap, so I can learn all the words before the concert. If you like stuff that typically isn't found in the charts and has a chilled out yet funky vibe, I totally recommend that you check Bombay Bicycle Club out, if you haven't already heard of them!

Blue Star Print Boxy Sweater - £23 (Next)

So, if you live in the UK, you will have noticed how chilly the weather has become. That is because, sadly, summer is coming to an end... I know I put sadly but I'm actually quite looking forward to the Autumn! This may seem strange to some, but I prefer the fashion - I love layering up clothes, wearing different prints and textures, and let's be honest, it's pretty tough to be stylish in the summer. The majority of the time I just wanted to walk around naked... It's just too hot! (Was that too much information? ...Probably). I bought this cute item from Next because it is so unbelievably soft, and would be perfect to wear to Sixth Form. Also, the fit is quite flattering too, it just falls perfectly!

Topshop MOTO JAMIE High Waisted Ankle Grazer - £42 (Topshop)

Not the cheapest of jeans, but sadly I have to spend a bit more as Topshop jeans seem to be the only ones to fit me perfectly. I only really have black skinnies, so I invested in some normal denim ones with rips at the knee. I love the ripped jeans style, and it adds a touch of edginess to any outfit, making your job a little bit easier!

Jersey Slubby Tee - £16 (Topshop)

This top is so comfy and so easy to wear, it is another great find for Sixth Form. It is also a great staple piece and can be worn with either my new jeans, my black skinnies, or leggings. I love how it has a V-neckline, as I normally just stick to a round neck, so it is something a little bit different to what I usually go for in that respect. Saying that though, I do have a lot of 'slubby'/slouchy style tops, but it's what I find the most comfortable to wear on long, stressful days. It is also very soft, so if you are like me and have to suffer hard-working days at Sixth Form/college/uni, definitely give this style a go!

Asymmetric Checked Skort - £34 (Topshop)

Is it a skirt? Are they shorts? Nope my friends, it's a skort! A hybrid of my two favourite items of clothing, and isn't this one gorgeous? Especially in the coming Autumn/Winter months. This is the first skort I've ever owned believe it or not (... Aside from those awful ones they used to sell in Tammy Girl when I was like 8, oops), and I think it would look lovely paired with tights, Chelsea boots and my new bargain of a jacket which you can see me wearing here. What do you think? I adore it!

Cuffed Leg Lounge Bottoms - £7 (Primark)

This is the last buy of the day, a pair of lounge bottoms for when I'm just chilling out at home. My favourite thing to do after a day out and about, is to put on a comfy pair of bottoms, so this was really worth every penny. In fact, I'm wearing them right now as I'm typing out this post to you funnily enough! If you're like me and love to chill out in some comfy clothes, Primark is the place to be right now people! Literally, all of their lounge wear (well, the majority of it anyway) is so nice and cute at the moment, look out for ones like these though as they also come with a pocket!

I also ought to add that from my mini shopping trip a couple of days before, I purchased a blue cotton V-neck button-up shirt for £7.99 and a beige chiffon button-up shirt with a pocket for £14.99, both in H&M. Unfortunately, I can't find them anywhere on the website, but hopefully you can find something similar!

AS Level Exam Results

This morning I awoke a nervous wreck. This surprised me as, although I agreed with my friends about being nervous previously, I wasn't actually too bothered about it. I've been stressing out about other things such as body image - but that's another topic altogether!

I was so nervous about finding out my results today, that unlike the rest of my friends, I waited until I arrived home to open them. I was so absolutely certain that I failed at least two of my exams due to the fact I didn't manage to complete some of the papers - my time keeping during sitting the exams this year was pretty terrible!

However, it turns out that I needn't have got myself so worked up about the results! I got an A in Psychology, an A in Media Studies (which really shocked me, as I completely messed up the 36 mark question and was unable to complete it), a B in English Literature and also a B in English Language. I am so over the moon with these results, as I know that the exams were being marked quite harshly this year. I am going to continue the hard work next year, and I'm going to try to carry on with all four subjects WITHOUT dropping any. It's going to be stressful, but I'm going to be so prepared for it!

I'm Still Alive!

Okay, this isn't a proper blog post, and I probably will end up deleting this post soon in the near future, but I just wanted to let you all know that I have never forgotten this blog - believe it or not! I have just been SOO busy with Sixth Form, and although I have been doing quite a lot of things aside from doing my AS Levels, I didn't think that any of it was really 'blogworthy'.
HOWEVER, this is going to change relatively soon believe it or not, and I have some things to update you guys on:

1. I will be deleting most of my old posts, as they are pretty cringey and just oh soooo awful!
2. Next weekend I will be going to Boardmasters festival in Newquay for a night, so hopefully I'll be able to take some pictures there!
3. Finally, this is my last exciting piece of news: in October half term I will be going to... drum-roll... TURKEY!! I really cannot wait, and I will definitely be taking loads of pictures for you guys. I'm hoping to do some 'OOTDs' whilst I'm out there too, so be expecting quite a lot of content around then! I may even try out some 'vlogging' and branch out to YouTube, but that is definitely more of a maybe - imagine if people at my Sixth Form found out about that hey?? Embarrassing or what!? But I've always wanted to try it, so this trip abroad would be a brilliant time to do it.

Haha) for sticking by me, even though I haven't been the most consistent, you guys truly are wonderful! I'm so excited to be getting back into this :)
